AFTERCARE
How should I take care of my ring?
It is important to take your activities into consideration when wearing your ring. Moreover, repeated contact with perfumes and cosmetics can damage precious metals and stones and we would advise you to apply these before putting on your graduation ring. It would be advisable to remove your ring when bathing, swimming, cleaning or gardening. To preserve the beauty and lustre of your ring, clean with a soft cloth. Do not use any type of brush, sharp instrument or rough cloth for cleaning. Avoid contact with any harsh acids and agents such as chlorine. If in doubt please contact us for advice.
More detailed care for silver pieces
One of the peculiarities of sterling silver is that it will tarnish, a process which is speeded up when it is exposed to salt air, products containing sulphur (such as rubber bands and some papers), skin creams, skin with an acid ph, perfume etc. The amount of tarnishing is also dependent on the skin and care habits of the wearer. Tarnishing is not a manufacturing fault and can be removed by using a specialist silver polishing cloth regularly. Wearing the jewellery regularly will also help prevent build up. Do also take care to always remove the jewellery before bathing, cleaning and swimming and try to avoid exposure to skin creams, hairspray and perfume. To minimise scratches and other damage, store the jewellery in its soft pouch or in an individual compartment in your jewellery box.
